There are many ways how to do SEO. Sometimes SEO can be a pain in your head... But if you approach it from the right angle it can be quick effective and even fun.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is one of the best methods to generate targeted traffic to your website. Traffic comes from organic search engine listings and from my own experience, this traffic is the most targeted and hence valuable. Conversion rates are far way better from organic traffic than from any paid advertisement like AdWords. Nowadays internet is flooded with swindlers and scams, that’s why paid ads are getting less and less trusted...

This is why I consider SEO as the only reliable way to go for a long-term online business. First off, you need to choose one of all these techniques and strategies how to do SEO. It’s really easy to get lost in the beginning but then you will get more and more confident with every right step you make. Making on-page optimization is the most reasonable first step you can make.

On-page optimization means maintaining your keyword density at 2-4% out of all content, setting up the appropriate meta tags (not that important these days as it was before) and page tittles. If you have any images on your website, don’t forget to set your main keyword as an alt text of these images. Having your main keyword in the domain name is a very good idea to boost your rankings as well. These steps are the easiest from the whole SEO process and not making them chances are you are wasting your rankings straight away.

When you are fine with on-page SEO it’s time to get on off-page optimization. Many marketers dislike this process defining it as tedious one. Well, I can say that it’s all about how you are approaching it. When you know how to do SEO and are confident about the future results of your work, it’s not tedious or boring at all. Best of all is to set up your own working plan ad follow it.

When starting off-page SEO optimization it’s important to remember about the quality of backlinks you generate. Ten quality backlinks to your site worth a lot more than hundred of low-quality backlinks. How do we define if the backlink is quality... Link from relevant and high-respected website considered to be a quality one. Page rank is also an important bit. On the first stage you want to focus on building quality backlinks, this will boost your website rankings well. If you start off with crappy links back, Google will treat your website the same way.

Internal linking is the way you link to other pages within your website.

It is the easiest to achieve and maximize first because you have total and complete control of. Correctly used internal links can be a valuable weapon in your search engine optimization strategy.

There are several factors require examination for improving a website's internal linking:

Website structure
Sitemaps
Anchor text
Footer links

Website structure:

Content represent the key to your website success. But content should be usable by search engine and visitors.

The website structure is how the pages of your website relate to each other. It's the collection of the pages of the website and the relationship between them. On other words, it's how you classifieds and implemented your pages.

Your website structure should be arranged in such way that search engine can easily read it and human visitors can easily navigate.

There are three types of website structure:
Pyramid structure: in which the homepages links to each categories and each categories links to each sub-categories. With this tactic, most of the page rank is focused on the homepage. And the lower you to rest to the other.
Web linking: each webpage is linked to all the other WebPages of the site. It represents the best tactic to smaller website.

Site map is a web page that lists all of the pages on your web site and you want the search engines to find and include them in their index.

Sitemaps can improve search engine optimization of a site by making sure that all the pages can be found and indexed. It help both visitors and search engine spiders to find pages on the web site

Sitemap will be a page that includes links to every other page on your site. From the sitemap, the search engine spiders can find every single page of your site. There is no need to include all of these links on your homepage.

Webmasters have been using Html sitemaps to get their content identified by search engines. This type of HTML sitemaps can be interpreted by visitors and search engines.

Website owner must build three types of sitemaps:
Html Sitemaps: building an HTML sitemap linked to and from your home page is something confidence webmasters have been doing for years and perhaps is the simplest to create. This sitemap is simply a list of pages contained on your site and enables the search engines spiders to easily find your pages, especially the ones that are linked unfathomable in your website that they may have trouble finding otherwise. Every type of sitemaps has an advantage that can help your website to get more traffic or to have a friendly relationship with search engines. For that reason, it's very important to build all this sitemaps.

Building sitemaps for the different search engines will help your website to the maximum exposure because search engines will allow their spiders to crawl earlier, more methodically and more significantly into your website pages.

Anchor text:

The anchor text is the visible text in a hyperlink. It's usually used to indicate the subject matter of the page that it links to.

It can help your website to:
Rank highly in search engine optimization
Give your visitors useful information about the content of the page you're linking to.

To have more advantage of the anchor text you should placed your keyword as an anchor text.

Many website invited their visitors to take action with "click here" or other words, it's recommended to use your keywords such as: visit the affiliate marketing tools (your keywords) for more information.

Footer Links:

Footer links are roughly standard at the bottom of every webpage. Many webmaster pick the opportunity to mention their main keyword.

To have more advantages, you should mention your main keyword at the very bottom right hand side of the webpage and try to mention it in natural way.

There are pretty few search engines on the world wide web which have a different way of ranking through link popularity. Figuring out all your possible inbound links requires much time. If they go over your website at a certain month and if during that time you have about 100 links then after a month you will then be having about a thousand inbound links, be watchful about this or else you are risking your website from being removed permanently in the search engines.

How to Get Your Website Index With Google

One thing you will need to do when you create a new website is to get your website indexed with Google. You want to get this to happen as fast as possible because then people will be able to visit your website through search engines. This means your website will get more traffic and this is what you are going for in the first place. I have done a bit of research on this topic and here are a few ways I have found to get my website indexed a bit faster with Google.
  • Submit your website to Google Webmaster Tools. By doing this you can see what Google's view of your website is. You can tell if you website is already indexed, if there is problems with your website, and help you diagnose any problems you may have.
  • Another thing you want to do is submit your domain name to Google - http://www.google.com/addurl/
  • You can also post on Social bookmark sites such as Digg, Reddit, and StumbleUpon
  • Submit some of your articles to Article Directories such as: EzineArticles, Buzzle.com, Amazines.com, ArticleDashboard.com, etc
  • Post on forums that get a lot of traffic and put a link to your website in your signature
  • You can also add your website to web directories such as Dmoz.org
  • You can also go to this page http://www.cubestat.com/ and than submit your domain name and it sometimes help with getting your website indexed
Hopefully these few techniques I have shared with you will help you get indexed a little bit faster and than you can get the traffic you really wanted.
